Restaurant sofa BASIC MAX

BASIC MAX has the same shape as BASIC, but with the back raised from 75 to 100 centimetres. Depth, seat, foam and construction are unchanged.

Those twenty five centimetres still change what the piece does. BASIC dresses the room. BASIC MAX starts to divide it.

What twenty five extra centimetres achieve

A back of 75 cm reaches roughly to the shoulder blades of a seated guest. The room then stays one open space, where you see straight through.

At 100 cm the back reaches the neck and blocks the view of the next table. Guests get a sense of sitting on their own, and the room is divided into zones without your putting up a single partition. This is the cheapest way we know of separating part of a venue, because it requires you to touch nothing but the furniture.

The price of that solution is that less light passes through the space, and the room feels smaller. In a cramped venue with one window a high back can do more harm than good.

All three have 50 cm depth and a seat at 43 cm. You are choosing between buttoning and height, not between different constructions.

Where a high back is a good choice

Rooms where one row of seating should separate the dining area from the passage or from the bar. Venues with high ceilings, where a low back disappears into the space. Places where guests sit for a long time and appreciate support above the shoulder blades.

With low ceilings, in narrow rooms and in spaces with only one source of daylight you should consider the base variant. If you are unsure, send us a floor plan or photos of the room with measurements and we will say what works: 968 27 586.

Construction and fabric

Foam with a density meant for contract use, identical to the other variants in the family. The taller back does not change the comfort of the seat itself, but gives support higher up the back.

For serving venues we choose fabric with at least 40 000 Martindale, and most of the range sits above 100 000. A tall back is also a larger continuous surface, so the choice of colour is more prominent here than on a low model.

Lead time and ordering

Made to measure it takes roughly four to six weeks from the moment payment is registered. We take orders from 1 linear metre, and before production we ask for at least 50 per cent of the value against a proforma invoice.
