MONACO restaurant sofa, technical drawing

MONACO has the back buttoned in large rectangular fields, laid in three rows through the whole height. The fields are curved and softly rounded, so the back surface looks like a set of cushions held in one frame.

It is the most representative finish in the class with 70 cm depth, and at the same time the lowest price per metre in that class.

Large fields are not a fine squared pattern

The buttoning in MONACO is sometimes confused with the squared pattern in the PARMA family, but they are two different pieces and two different effects. In PARMA II the squares are small and dense and form a texture that reads as a uniform surface. In MONACO the fields are large and countable, and you see each of them from the other end of the room.

MONACO is also deeper: 70 cm against 50 cm in the PARMA family, so it belongs to another comfort class, designed for sitting longer.

How large buttoning works in a room

Close up the eye sees soft, curved fields, and the piece reads as comfortable. From a few metres away the even rhythm of rectangles gives order to a long run along the wall, a structure the smooth surface does not have.

That works in rooms where the seating should raise the standard of the interior: VIP areas, hotel lobbies, restaurants in a higher price bracket. In a venue with strongly patterned decor the large fields will instead compete for attention, and then the smooth NICEA is the better choice.

Measurements and price

Parameter Value
Depth 70 cm
Total height 95 cm
Seat height 43 cm from the floor
Back large buttoning in rectangular fields, three rows
Standard module lengths 1 linear metre and 1.2 linear metres, maximum 1.4 linear metres
Price from 2 500 NOK per linear metre

The whole form runs in one fabric, from the top edge of the back all the way down, and underneath sits a black base on legs.

Three finishes in the same class

Back Model Price from
Large buttoning, three rows MONACO 2 500 NOK/linear metre
Smooth, without seams NICEA 2 600 NOK/linear metre
Vertical channels PARIS 2 600 NOK/linear metre

Construction, foam and depth are identical in all three, and they can be combined in the same room. The difference lies in the back, and the price gap between them is small enough that in practice the choice is about the look.

Fabric for large buttoning

The curved fields create their own play of light and shadow, so a material with a clear pattern will compete with them. Plain fabrics work best, where the buttoning is the only drawing in the surface.

Velour shows the effect more strongly than faux leather, because the pile lies differently on each curve and the difference between field and hollow becomes clearer. Every fabric we offer for serving venues survives at least 40 000 Martindale, and most of the range sits above 100 000.

The variant with a taller back

MONACO MAX has the same buttoning on a back raised to 120 cm, where there are four rows instead of three. The field size is the same, so the net does not stretch, there are simply more rows. The price is 2 700 NOK per linear metre.

Choose the MAX variant if the piece should divide the room into zones. At 95 cm the back ends at neck height and the room stays open.

Construction and lead time

Foam with a density meant for continuous use, identical across the 70 cm class. Production to measure takes roughly four to six weeks, counted from the moment payment is registered.

The minimum order is one linear metre. At 70 cm depth four modules of 1.2 metres fit on a pallet, and corner elements are measured along the back and charged at the rate for a straight run: 968 27 586.

Frequently asked questions

What are the measurements of MONACO?

The same 70 cm in depth and 95 cm in total height as PARIS and NICEA, with the seat 43 cm from the floor. The models in this group differ purely in the back, so they can be combined in one room.

How does the buttoning in MONACO differ from the squared pattern in PARMA II?

The size of the field and the class of furniture. MONACO has large, countable rectangles and 70 cm depth, PARMA II has a fine, dense squared pattern at 50 cm depth. They are two different pieces, not variants of the same one.

Which fabric suits a buttoned back?

Plain rather than patterned, because the buttoning creates the drawing of the surface. Velour shows the effect more clearly than faux leather.

What separates MONACO from MONACO MAX?

The back height: 95 cm against 120 cm, and four rows of fields instead of three. The size of the field is the same.

What does MONACO cost?

From 2 500 NOK per linear metre. That is the lowest price per metre among the models with 70 cm depth.
