NICEA is the only model in the 70 cm class with a completely smooth back, without seams, channels or buttoning. A soft, uniform surface from the seat to the top edge.

The depth of 70 cm puts it in the same comfort class as PARIS and MONACO, meant for sitting a long time. The only thing that separates it from them is that the back carries no drawing.

The absence of stitching is not the absence of something

A smooth back gives all the attention to the fabric. With velour you see the structure of the pile and the way the material shifts shade at different angles of light. With faux leather you see a clean, calm field of colour.

Models with channels or buttoning create the drawing themselves, so with them the fabric comes second. In NICEA it is the other way round: the material is the only effect the piece has to offer. The choice of fabric counts for more here than on any other model in the catalogue.

When a smooth back is the right choice

In a room that already has its strong element: a brick wall, a mural, patterned wallpaper, a striking lamp over the table. A piece with stitching would lay a third pattern on top of that. A smooth piece gives a calm background.

It also works where you want the budget to go into metres and fabric quality rather than into decoration. If the space is large and the run is long, a better fabric shows sooner than stitching nobody sees from the table.

Measurements and price

Under the cover sits a black base on legs. The whole form runs in one fabric, from the top edge of the back all the way down.

Three finishes in the 70 cm class

Every model at this depth has an identical shape and a seat at 43 cm. The only thing that separates them is the way the back is sewn.

Construction, foam and depth are the same in all three. NICEA and PARIS sit at the same price per metre, so between them you choose purely on the look: a calm surface where the fabric carries the piece, or a vertical rhythm that divides the back.

Construction and lead time

Foam with a density meant for continuous use, the same as in the other models in the class. Fabric for serving venues has, with us, at least 40 000 Martindale, and most of the range sits above 100 000.

Production to measure takes roughly four to six weeks, counted from the moment payment is registered. The minimum order is one linear metre. At 70 cm depth four modules of 1.2 metres fit on one pallet: 968 27 586.
