PARIS restaurant sofa, technical drawing

PARIS is the model we get the most orders for in rooms where the guest stays a while. The back has vertical channels through its whole height, and the shape is deeper than in BASIC and PARMA: 70 centimetres instead of 50.

Those twenty centimetres move the piece into another class. At 50 cm depth you sit upright, and not for long. At 70 you can lean back and stay at the table for an hour or two.

70 cm of depth is a different way of sitting

Shallow models work in a bar and in venues with high turnover, where the guest sits for a quarter of an hour. PARIS is designed for the longer visit, so the seat supports the thighs along their whole length and the back has somewhere to retreat to.

The price of that comfort is square metres in the room. A run of PARIS takes 70 cm in depth instead of 50, that is, a third more, and you subtract that difference from the width of the room before working out the passage. In a narrow room that is sometimes what decides in favour of a shallower model.

At this depth four modules of 1.2 metres fit on a pallet instead of six, so freight for the same length comes out more expensive.

Vertical channels

The back is divided by vertical rounded channels running from the seat to the top edge. This is not a flat surface with a seam, but curved cushions with shadow between them.

The effect is different from the squared pattern in the PARMA family. The channels lead the eye upwards, so the piece looks taller and slimmer than it is. Over a long run along a wall the rhythm of vertical lines breaks up the horizontal shape, which would otherwise stretch evenly through the whole room.

PARIS in real venues

The model stands in the bakery and café Kaffel in Gliwice, in Złota Bila in Blue City in Warsaw, in a restaurant on Dob utca in Budapest and in House of Hot Pot & BBQ in Poznań, where we also made it in a half round version around the table. At Krzywy Domek in Sopot we rebuilt it to the curve of the wall, and at Restbotanica in Katowice it was made straight and curved at the same time.

It is the model in our catalogue that gets rebuilt most often, because it survives a change of shape without losing its proportions.

Frequently asked questions

What are the measurements of PARIS?

Depth 70 cm, total height 95 cm, seat 43 cm from the floor. The standard module lengths are 1 linear metre and 1.2 linear metres.

What separates PARIS from BASIC and PARMA?

The depth and the stitching. PARIS is 70 cm deep instead of 50, that is, it is designed for sitting longer, and the back is divided into vertical channels.

What separates PARIS from PARIS MAX?

The back height. PARIS is 95 cm, PARIS MAX 120 cm, with the same vertical channels. Depth and seat are the same.

Can I get PARIS with fast delivery?

Yes, in black and in the standard 1.2 linear metre size, up to three working days plus freight. Other colours and sizes fall under normal production time.

How many modules fit on a pallet?

Four modules of 1.2 metres. At 70 cm depth fewer fit than with the models at 50 cm, and that shows in the freight cost.

Can PARIS be built to a curve?

Yes, and we have done it many times, among others at Krzywy Domek in Sopot and at Restbotanica in Katowice. Rounded shapes we price with a supplement agreed individually.
