Restaurant sofa PARIS45

PARIS45 is PARIS with the channels laid diagonally, at an angle of forty five degrees. The number in the name comes from exactly that angle.

Measurements, depth and construction are the same as in the base variant: 70 cm depth, 95 cm total height, seat 43 cm above the floor.

The diagonal channels change how the piece works in the room

Vertical channels lead the eye upwards and make the back look taller. Diagonal channels lead it along the run and put movement where the line of the piece would otherwise stand still.

In a long, straight room that has a concrete effect: the diagonal breaks up the horizontal form running along the whole wall and gives it a direction. In a small space with one short run the effect is the opposite, and the pattern can take over a small surface.

So this is a choice based on the length of the run, not on the size of the venue.

Why diagonal channels cost more

The extra cost against PARIS comes neither from the material nor from the construction, since those are identical. You are paying for the way the stitching is laid.

A diagonal channel needs a different cut in the fabric from a vertical one. The fabric is laid on the bias, so pattern and weave have to line up at the joint between segments, and every module has to be cut with the direction in mind. With vertical channels that problem does not exist.

The consequence when ordering: on a longer run made up of several modules we decide the direction of the diagonal on the drawing, so that the lines pass through the joints without a break.

PARIS45 or PARIS MAX

The two variants solve entirely different tasks.

If you need to screen off a zone, choose PARIS MAX. If the room should stay open and the piece should be a focal point in it, choose PARIS45.

Fabric for diagonal stitching

The channels create a strong drawing in the surface themselves, so a material with a clear pattern of its own will compete with them. On this model plain fabrics work best, where the play of light on the channels is the only effect.

Velour shows the channels more clearly than faux leather, because the pile lies differently on each curve. Every fabric we offer for serving venues survives at least 40 000 Martindale, and most of the range sits above 100 000.

Lead time and ordering

Production to measure takes roughly four to six weeks, counted from the moment payment is registered. The minimum order is one linear metre, and before we put it into production we ask for at least half the value against a proforma invoice.
